About Gosha and what help he needs

Gosha was diagnosed autism at age of 2. We moved to the United States because of this problem. In US he can go to special needs class at regular school. In Russia where we are from autism in most cases equals schizophrenia and kids suggested to be placed into mental institution.

Gosha is very adorable boy and extraordinary smart. But he almost doesn't speak and have severe social and communication problems. We need good speech therapists and ABA(applied behavior analysis) specialists to work with him.

WHAT GOSHA NEEDS:
  1. YOUR PRAYERS - We understand that whatever good we want to do it can't be done without God's will. We believe that only God can do a miracle for us and Gosha and open his mind for speech.
  2. THERAPY - We are looking for good specialists in autism that could help Gosha to adapt to this world. Autism is something that Gosha will carry through all his life. We are not looking how to spend thousands dollars in exchange of "magic pill" or false hope. We are looking for specialist making scientific research of the problem of autism and for whom Gosha may be helpful. We are in Houston, Texas, but we can move if it would be necessary.
  3. SPREAD THE WORD about autism and about kids like Gosha. The more attention they get – the better their life could be.
Thank you very much and God bless you!

Gosha's dream came true!

When we gave a netbook to Gosha for downloading manuals, he found one truck there that we couldn't afford. Every time when he visited site, he was pointing to that truck and whining to show us that he want's it. The answer was "Sorry, Gosha, we don't have that truck :("

Maybe for a month or so he was trying to build it from pieces we had, listed manual, but all the tries were incomplete cause we didn't have maybe half of non-standard pieces used there including 4 motors and many gears.

But for a New Year Gosha's aunt and uncle decided to make a present for Gosha and gave him that Lego 8043 truck set that Gosha was dreamed about!

Gosha was so happy! We even shoot that moment when we gave him that truck!

That truck is a real challenge. It took Gosha several days and many tries to build it flawless. First try took about 9 hours working non stop! He made it, but there were some mistakes that prevented gears to rotate, so the whole construction didn't move. With every try it was taking less and less time until finally he built B model in 4 hours and later main model in about 6 hours.

and pictures of the A model

After that he made those models again several times, and now he is building another models from the internet that he couldn't do before with that new pieces.

Good job Gosha and thanks to Gosha's aunt and uncle who made such a generous present to him!

Going to a next level.

Gosha did all of his Lego sets hundred times. Many parts were lost, many building instructions were destroyed. So many new sets were desired, but prices are high and budget is quite limited.

What we did is we took apart all Lego sets we had, sorted them by color, size and shapes and gave Gosha a little netbook where he can download building instructions from internet for any set and try to build them from the pieces he already have.

That of course require some imagination from him and engineering skills, cause not all the parts are available and he needs to think about how he can replace missing parts.

First reaction was very positive, he got the idea of freedom he have now and already made several models including those we had not before. Even keeping an order and disassembling models back into pieces for now working quite well.

I suppose the next level will be his own models, but for now he prefer to download instructions for his favorite Technic serie form lego site and do the models he can from pieces he has.

Gosha got help again!

People from The Woodsedge church were so kind and made very many gifts for Gosha. Several Lego and Knex sets plus some cool clothes and one pijama with lego bricks on it. Now Gosha sleeps only in this pijama and call it "Legopants". God bless all these people and pastors who taught them to do good things for people in need! This is what church is all about (James 1:27, 2Tim 3:17).

Gosha got help!

One lady from Europe (preferred to stay anonymous) was impressed by Gosha's talents and decided to make a donation of 100 EUR to Gosha. This lady also has a child with autistic spectrum symptoms. We pray for her son, her own spiritual strength and for their family.

On behalf of Gosha we want to say - Thank you very much! We used your money to buy K'NEX Education Exploring Machines set of 1432 pieces for ages of 8-14 years and with manuals for 30 different models which helps undertand basics of physics and machinery. Gosha immediately fell in love with that set!

Thank you for taking part in Gosha's life! God bless your family!
